Dom Spada, Deputy Mayor / Police Commissioner

 

Dom Spada has been a resident of the Village of Huntington Bay for 10 years. Upon moving to the Village he joined the Halesite Fire Department where he serves as Captain of the Engine Company. Dom also sits on the Board of Officers and is a member of the Fire Department's Training Committee assuring that our firefighters get the best training possible. In 2007 Dom was

recognized as the Halesite Fire Department "Firefighter of The Year" for his dedication and service to his community.

 

Dom joined the Village Board of Trustees in 2011 and was appointed Police Commissioner in 2012. Shortly after being appointed Police Commissioner, Dom implemented a Traffic Safety program where Police Officers assertively monitor the adherence to Village speed limits and the enforcement of Stop Signs throughout the Village.

Dom graduated from Adelphi University with a B.A. in Communications and Journalism and has worked at Madison Square Garden for the past 26 years as a lead technician for New York Knicks and New York Rangers telecasts.

 

Dom coaches youth lacrosse and football here in Huntington, and plays lacrosse in his over 40 league. Dom has two children and a very supportive wife.
