For any emergency, requiring police
officer response, please dial 911. A Huntington Bay
Police Officer will respond.
For general questions, or to notify
the police that you will be away, please call ( 631)
427-2020.
The residents of the Village of Huntington Bay enjoy
the benefits of the Village's own police department.
The department's personalized patrols prove to be
an effective deterrent against crime, and allow for
an extremely efficient response time.
The police department is comprised of one Chief,
one sergeant, four full-time Police Officers. The
department has marked and unmarked police vehicles,
which patrol and conduct traffic enforcement.
Please be aware that the police strictly enforce
the Village's 30 mile per hour speed limit and all
of the posted stop signs. Please also be aware that
there is no parking allowed on any Village road. (Exceptions
for street parking may be granted by notifying the
police beforehand for events such as tag sales and
parties.)
The police officers are acutely aware of all segments
of the Village. However, as they cannot be everywhere
in the Village at the same time, community awareness
is very helpful. Residents are encouraged to notify
the police whenever witnessing any unusual activity.
If a resident plans to take a trip, leaving their
home unattended, please alert the police and they
will endeavor to monitor your house daily.
