Present:
Ron Prior, Chairman
Jay Cavanagh
Linda Aquilina
Village Attorney: Mara Manin
Village Building Inspector: Richard Kinch
Mr. Prior called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. There are three public hearings on the agenda.
Public Hearing: Bonita Williamson, 5 Kanes Lane, to construct additions on the main floor. At 7:30 Mr. Prior read the public notice. Mr. & Mrs. Williamson came before the Board to request a variance for Area of Lot, Lot Area Coverage, Rear Yard and Compliance of Driveways. Mrs. Williamson explained that all nonconformities are preexisting, that they would like to expand an existing first floor bathroom to include a laundry room and expand an existing family room to create more living space. The hearing was closed at 7:45 p.m. A transcript was taken by Laura Pinto.
Public Hearing: Richard and Roberta Montalbano, 18 Bay Drive West, to legalize an addition and alteration which was started without a permit. Mr. Prior read the public notice. Mr. & Mrs. Montalbano came before the Board to request a rear yard variance. Mr. Montalbano explained that the variance required was because of an existing garage. They propose to turn existing unusable second floor closet space into living space by raising the roof. The hearing was closed at 7:55pm. A transcript was taken by Laura Pinto.
Public Hearing: William Krause, 180 East Shore Road, to construct a covered front porch; raise the existing room and add three “doggie dormers.” John Himmelsbach, architect for the applicant, cam before the Board to request a variance for Area of Lot, Floor Area Ratio, Lot Area Coverage, Side Yard and Vision Clearance. Mr. Himmelsbach explained that the front porch would add 100sq. ft. to the footprint of the house and the other changes to the house were cosmetic in nature. The Village Attorney questioned the applicant regarding the vision clearance. The hearing was closed at 8:15. A transcript was taken by Laura Pinto.
The Board discussed the applications that were presented.
The Board voted on the written decisions.
