Minutes, Board of Trustees, May 9, 2005

Mayor Morrow opened the meeting at 7:35p.m.

Cell Tower
John Gomez an industry consultant came before the Board to talk about installing a cell tower in the Village.

Public Comment
Mayor Morrow opened the meeting to a public comment period.
Residents inquired about the fence at the end of Vineyard Road, construction in Bay Hills and the Emergency Drill Local Law.

Vineyard Road Beach Access
Mr. Kinch presented a new proposal for residents to get to the beach at the end of Vineyard Road. The Board discussed erecting pressure treated wood steps up and over the sea wall. Mr. Kinch will find out if a DEC permit is required.

Police Report
Chief Hubbs’ police report was distributed. The Board reviewed the report.

Public Hearing – Budget
At 9:15p.m. Mayor Morrow reviewed the proposed budget. He discussed it in detail with the Board. A motion was made by Mr. McCusker to approve the budget with a 6.8% tax rate increase, seconded by Mr. Meyer and unanimously approved. The transcript was taken by Laura Pinto.

Village Attorney’s Report
The Board discussed amendments to the Village Code. There will be public hearings held in June.

Executive Session
At 10:20p.m. the Board went into executive session to discuss the Smyth application and the police contract. The Board reconvened at 11p.m.

Financials / Bills
The Board reviewed the interim financial statements and the list of bills and after careful review, questions and discussion, a motion was made by Mr. McCusker to approve the list of bills and the interim financial statements, seconded by Mr. Gai and unanimously approved.

Minutes
A motion was made by Mr. McCusker to approve the April minutes as amended, seconded by Mr. Rave and unanimously approved.

With no further business to be brought before the Board, the monthly meeting was closed at 11:15p.m.
