Zoning Board of Appeals May 29, 2007

Present:
Ron Prior, Chairman
Jay Cavanagh
John Williamson

Village Attorney: Mara Manin
Village Administrator: Lynn Pincomb

Mr. Prior called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.  He stated that there was one application on the agenda this evening.

Public Hearing:  Nancy Herbert, 200 Bay Avenue, to legalize a deck, a driveway reconfiguration and additional walkways all built without a Building and Grading permit.  John Herbert stated that in 1997 he had the 550sq.ft. deck built by a contractor, had the driveway and walkways reconfigured and did not know that a building permit was required.  Laura Sacks, architect for the applicant, explained that the reconfiguration of the driveway and walkways reduced the Lot area coverage from what was originally there and that all non conformities are preexisting. The hearing was closed at 7:45pm.  A transcript was taken by Laura Pinto.

Decisions
The board discussed the Fulton decision.  A motion, made by Jay Cavanagh to approve the Fulton decision was seconded by John Williamson and approved 3/0.

A letter was received from J. Edward Gathman at the request of his client, Joseph Carrello, withdrawing Mr. Carrello’s application for variances in order to construct a new dwelling at 6 Fleetwood Drive.

A Planning & Zoning training conference to be held in October by the Suffolk County Planning Commission was discussed.  Mr. Prior suggested that all members attend.  Mr. Prior also suggested that when a member attends a training conference, a summary of the topics discussed should be presented to the Board.

With no further business to be brought before the Board, Mr. Prior closed the meeting at 8:15p.m.

Respectfully Submitted

Lynn Pincomb
