Mayor Morrow opened the meeting at 7:35p.m. There
are no public hearings this evening.
Police Report
Chief Ray Hubbs presented his report. Sergeant Guirgis
and Chief Hubbs have been attending training seminars
regarding changes in laws and procedures. Chief Hubbs
is continuing to attend the Pre-disaster Mitigation
Meetings. There was a chimney fire on Valley Drive
to which the Police and Fire Department responded.
New Year’s Eve was quiet. Chief Hubbs is preparing
his budget. Chief Hubbs said the four wheel drive
truck is failing and he will be looking into purchasing
a new one soon. Chief Hubbs would also like to purchase
new speed sign; he will get price quotes.
Pre-disaster Mitigation Plan Grant Resolution
A resolution was made by Mr. Meyer authorizing
a contract between Suffolk County and the Village
to prepare a pre-disaster mitigation plan, seconded
by Mr. Gai and unanimously approved.
Village Attorney’s Report
Mr. Gesualdi reviewed his report with the Board. The
board discussed briefly some of the pending subdivisions
in the Village.
Code Revision
The Board discussed proposed code changes. There are
four public hearings scheduled for next month, Permitted
Activities, Maximum Building Height, Demolition Permits
and Distribution of the Village Code of Ethics. A
proposed local law on site plan review will be discussed
further next month.
Town of Huntington EPA Phase II Resolution
A resolution was made by Mr. Rave supporting a grant
application in partnership with the Town of Huntington
where by the Town will act as lead applicant in the
EPA Phase II. The resolution was seconded by Mr. Meyer
and unanimously approved.
Tax Sale Resolution
A motion was made by Mr. Meyer for unpaid taxes on
the Village Tax Roll to be collected by the holding
of a Tax Sale on March 14, 2006, seconded by Mr. McCusker
and unanimously approved.
Village Administrator’s Report
Lynn Pincomb presented her report. The Village is
waiting for two associations to pay their snow plowing
/ sanding assessments. The street signs on Harbor
Hill and Kaiser Hill were vandalized. David Grossman
has made temporary signs and he will be carving new
ones. Andrew and Carl Lawrence have been re-appointed
as special Assistant District Attorneys for the Village.
Financials / Bills
The Board reviewed the interim financial statements
and the list of bills and, after review, questions
and discussion, a motion was made by Mr. McCusker
to approve the list of bills and the interim financial
statements which was seconded by Mr. Meyer and unanimously
approved.
Minutes
The Board reviewed the December minutes. A motion
was made by Mr. Meyer to approve the minutes as amended,
seconded by Mr. McCusker and unanimously approved.
Road Commissioner’s Report
Given Associates has recalculated the assessment for
the roads in Bay Hills and Bay Crest. That information
was sent to the State for the drainage projects. The
Mayor asked that the Village staff try to move this
process along.
Holiday Party
The Board was pleased with the Holiday Party. Mr.
Petrone and Mrs. Cannon were honored and grateful
for their Citizenship Awards. MJ Pulling of Pederson-Krag
wrote a thank you letter for the toys that were donated
to the organization.
Mayor’s Report
Mayor Morrow told the Board that Supervisor Petrone
has asked him to be on the committee for the harbor-front
revitalization project which plans to create community
space.
With no further business to be brought before the
Board the meeting was closed at 9:10p.m.
