Mayor Morrow opened the meeting at 7:30p.m.
Police Chief’s Report:
Chief Hubbs and Sergeant Gurigis have been attending
terrorism training hosted by the Suffolk County Police
Department. The Village bought new bullet proof vests
for the full-time and part-time officers; the Village
will be reimbursed for these funds. Officer Schondebare
was re-injured and he has been out for two weeks.
Public Hearing – Lefkowitz – 1 Shore
Drive – Site Plan Addition/Alteration
At 8:15p.m. Neil Hoffman, A.I.A. came before the Board
for site plan review because the property is in the
waterfront preservation district. The applicant is
requesting to change the siding of the house and a
289 sq. ft. addition. At 9:20p.m. the Board decided
to keep the hearing open. The transcript for this
hearing was taken by Laura Pinto.
Certificate of Occupancy Fee
Tracey McCauley came before the Board to request relief
for a building permit fee after submitting as-built
drawings to get a C.O. for her existing house. A motion
was made by Mr. Gai to reduce the fee to $250 seconded
by Mr. Meyer and unanimously approved.
Vineyard Road Project
Mr. Michael Pedone and the Mr. & Mrs. Esposito
came before the Board inquiring about the plans for
the end of Vineyard Road. Mr. Kinch drew up three
proposals, one for a handicap ramp, second for steps
over the wall and a third paving Vineyard Road to
the seawall. The Board discussed the options with
the Mr. Pedone and the Espositos. Mr. Kinch will have
two more proposals for next month based on the discussion.
Code Revisions
Mr. Kinch, Mr. Gesualdi and Mr. Vollmuth presented
a report to the Board regarding big houses, floor
area ratios and lot area coverage and recommendations
to the board for each district. The Board discussed
accessory apartments as well as streamlining the application
process for variances. Mr. Gesualdi will draft local
laws on these topics.
Village Attorney’s Report:
Mr. Gesualdi presented his report to the Board.
Resolution
A motion was made by Mr. McCusker to approve repaving
of Vineyard Road and Bay Avenue as a Type II Action
under the SEQRA Rules and Regulations, seconded by
Mr. Meyer and unanimously approved.
A motion was made by Mr. McCusker to authorize a
tax lien sale, seconded by Mr. Gai and unanimously
approved.
Financials / Bills
The Board reviewed the interim financial statements
and the list of bills and after careful review, questions
and discussion, a motion was made by Mr. McCusker
to approve the list of bills and the interim financial
statements, seconded by Mr. Gai and unanimously approved.
Minutes
The Board reviewed the October and November minutes.
The minutes were approved as amended. A motion was
made by Mr. Gai to approve the December minutes, seconded
by Mr. Meyer and unanimously approved.
With no further business to be brought before the
Board, the monthly meeting was closed at 11:45p.m.
