Zoning Board of Appeals December 14, 2006

At 7:20 the Board convened in executive session, the Mayor addressed the board.  Executive session was closed at 7:28.

Mr. Prior called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. There is one public hearing on the agenda.


Public Hearing:  Meryl Dowling, 40 Bay Crest, to demolish an existing house and construct a new dwelling the applicant requires a variance for Side yard, Rear yard and Items permitted in set back areas.  The Village Attorney explained that this application would also require site plan review by the Planning Board but that a favorable decision rendered by one board does not influence the decision of the other.  Mr. Prior read the public notice.  George Suddell, architect for the applicant, in conjunction with Frank Esposito, landscape designer, presented the application.  Mr. Suddell explained what the Dowlings wished to accomplish with the design. Residents in attendance expressed their concerns.  The meeting remains open in order for the applicant to submit revised drawings.  A transcript was taken by Laura Pinto.

The Board discussed the application that was presented.

Decision
The motion made by Chairman Prior to approve the Schillig decision, was seconded by Ms. Aquilina and approved 3/0.  Mr. Woodward abstained as he was not present at the hearing.

Minutes
A motion made by Mr. Cavanagh to approve the November minutes, was seconded by Ms. Aquilina and unanimously approved.

Next month’s meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2007.

With no further business to be brought before the Board, Mr. Prior closed the meeting at 9:45p.m.
