Minutes Board of Trustees August 14, 2006

Deputy Mayor Gai opened the meeting at 7:30p.m. There are no public hearings this evening.  

Chief’s Report
HBPD will begin safety checks before school starts.  Chief Hubbs and PO Jack have  completed the application for accreditation and have sent it to DCJS.  The Chief expects to receive the Pre-Disaster Mitigation contract from Suffolk County soon.  Mr. Gai reminded those in attendance about the required NIMS certification.  The new Ford Expedition was ordered to replace the current 4WD Jeep. It will be delivered before winter.   

Attorney’s Report
Mara Manin discussed her report with the Board.  Mr. Iarrobino’s attorney feels the matter of the ‘wooden structure’ is still open.  Ms. Manin will contact him.  Revisions to the Local Law regarding Site Plan Review will be distributed in September for the Board to review.

Administrator’s Report
There have been 673 tax payments processed.  Delinquent letters were mailed. The ZBA will not meet this month as there is no quorum.  Stop line striping has been installed on Bay Road at the intersection of Soundview Dr.  Village signs were replaced at Bay Rd. and on Crescent Beach Dr.  The contract for Bay Crest Willow Pond Drainage Area ‘G’ has been through the DEC contracts division and is now in the Management and Budget Office for approval.  It then goes to the Attorney General and finally to the Office of the State Comptroller.  It is expected to take another month.

Financials / Bills
The Board reviewed the interim financial statements and the list of bills and, after  review, questions and discussion, a motion was made by Mr. Meyer to approve the list of bills and the interim financial statements which was seconded by Mr. McCusker and unanimously approved.

Road Commissioner’s Report
Mr. Gai will meet with the contractor who is to install the drains at the bottom of Cedar as part of the Bond Act.  Mr. Gai will meet with the residents of Upper Drive who are finalizing their plans for having the road paved.   

Minutes
A motion made by Mr. Meyer to approve the July minutes as amended was seconded by Mr. McCusker and unanimously approved.

A motion made by Mr. Meyer to amend the May 1 minutes was seconded by Mr. McCusker and unanimously approved.
 
At 8:10pm with no further business to be brought before the Board a motion was made by Mr. Meyer to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mr. McCusker and unanimously approved.
