Mayor Morrow opened the meeting at 7:45p.m. There
is one public hearing for Aspen Homes.
Public Hearing – Aspen Homes –
32 Heckscher Drive
Paul Dyckes of Aspen Homes came before the Board to
request legalization of wood steps with a platform
and a brick patio that was constructed without approval.
A motion was made by Mr. Rave to approve the application,
seconded by Mayor Morrow and unanimously approved.
Police Report
Mayor Morrow presented Chief Ray Hubbs’ report.
There was a burglary on Bay Avenue. A letter was mailed
to all Village residents informing them of the burglary
and encouraging residents to use precautions. Officer
McGrath gave a lecture to the summer employees at
the Bay Club on safety. There was also a hit and run
in the Bay Club parking lot.
Village Attorney’s Report
Mr. Gesualdi reviewed his report with the Board and
discussed future code changes. Mr. Gesualdi will draft
a demolition local law and site plan review for new
construction for next month. Maximum height for a
house and set backs were also discussed.
Village Administrator Report
Mayor Morrow presented the Village Administrator’s
report. Delinquent tax letters have been mailed. The
ZBA’s next meeting is in September. The sign
in front of Village Hall has been replace and the
sign at the intersection of Huntington Bay Road and
Bay Road will be replaced later this month.
Financials / Bills
The Board reviewed the interim financial statements
and the list of bills and after careful review, questions
and discussion, a motion was made by Mr. Gai to approve
the list of bills and the interim financial statements,
seconded by Mr. Meyer and unanimously approved.
Minutes
A motion was made by Mr. Meyer to approve the July
minutes as amended, seconded by Mayor Morrow and unanimously
approved.
Public Comment
A resident raised concern about operations of a local
beach association. The Board said they would discuss
the issue and respond to the concern in writing.
Executive Session
At 9:15p.m., the Board convened into executive session
to discuss the police contract. At 9:25p.m. The Board
reconvened as the Board of Trustees.
Road Commissioner’s Report
The telephone pole on East Shore Road is still in
the road and holding up the road widening project.
Mr. Gai and Mrs. Pincomb are working to have Verizon
remove it. The drains will be cleaned out in December.
Mr. Gai is waiting for an estimate from Cook Industries
to install a berm on the north side of Bay Road from
Locust Lane to Vineyard Road.
With no further business to be brought before the
Board, the monthly meeting was closed at 9:45p.m.
