Village of Huntington Bay, New York,
July 30, 2007- There is no better way to kick off
the school year than by helping other Long Island
families send their children off to school happy,
healthy, safe and prepared!
Of the thousands of disadvantaged Long Island families, many could use a little extra help to make sure that their children have the supplies they will need for the upcoming school year. This includes (but not limited to) pencils, pens, notebooks, binders, backpacks, crayons, lunchboxes, markers, rulers, calculators, erasers, scissors and glue.
The Village of Huntington Bay is sponsoring a School
Supply Drive from now until August 31st to help our
neighbors in Suffolk County. This is a great opportunity
to get your children involved in making a difference
in the lives of some of their classmates!
"Our community has always demonstrated generosity
to many programs in the area. This drive will allow
our residents to do so again for those children who
do not have the resources to start school with the
things they need. We think this will be very successful."
said Huntington Bay Mayor, Herb Morrow.
You can drop off any new/unused supplies at Village
Hall from 9 am-3 pm Monday through Friday. All contributions
will be donated to the Suffolk County Department of
Social Services for distribution.
